Recreation Director’s Report July 11, 2006 As usual I can’t believe how fast the last few months have passed us by. The Recreation Department has been at a feverous pace since the end of March when families were just beginning to register for baseball & softball. Now it’s July and I can’t but wonder where the past few months went. Here is just an outline of what the Recreation Department has been up to since April:
Our 1st ever SPRING Hunter Safety Course Youth Baseball/Softball teams selections (13 teams total) Joe Pomykala returns for the season (mid-April – Oct.) Recreation Area opens for the summer Bath House Specifications/Bid Salsa Dance at the VT Police Academy (co-sponsored by Lothrop School) “Reducing & Preventing Beach Closures on Lakes & Rivers in N. England) presentation Spring Fling Teen Dance Green Up Day Coordination Bus Trip to Montpelier (cancelled due to lack of interest) Assemble Camp Caverly & Day Camp Staff Assemble Lifeguard staff Fishing Derby, June 2, 2006 Pavilion Rentals Swim Area Opens Ice Cream Social (co-sponsored with Maclure Library) Swim Area Season passes Camp Caverly, June 19-23 (5 year old camp) Day Camp, June 26-August 4 Pittsford Day, July 2, 2006 Swim Lesson (3 sessions) Compact Tractor Specifications/Bid
